
Bree Edwards studied urban archaeology and the history of utopian thought at the Institute for Social Ecology, Goddard College, Vermont. She completed her MA at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, NY followed by a postgraduate curatorial fellowship at DeAppel Center for Contemporary Art, Amsterdam.
Bree is an independent curator and cultural producer who has held the positions of Program Manager at the Mitchell Center for the Arts at the University of Houston and Curator of Public Programs at the Asheville Museum of Art. In Asheville she organized a year-long, interdisciplinary series focused on the legacy of the experimental college Black Mountain College (1933-57). She has organized numerous group exhibitions and screenings and her writing has been published by The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Museu do Chiado in Lisbon, as well as appearing in various blogs and art publications.
She was born in the 1970s in New York City and today leads a rather nomadic lifestyle. She is currently on a world tour with her collaborative partner, Johnny DeKam. Together they are producing live video for a rock band in theaters and concert halls around the world.
